a life update… sort of

As a self-proclaimed master of procrastination, I’ve been putting off this first blog post for a while — pretty much since high school. Starting this was always something that I had wanted to do, but I tend to push aside the projects that I’m really into because, erm… the idea of failing or being bad at something you care about is a little bit scary.

The more I thought about what I wanted to say in this ~introductory~ post, the more turned off by the idea I was. Since my mom and a few close friends are likely the only people who will ever look at this, why would I introduce myself to people who already know me? So, I decided to make this a life update sort of situation. These are the things I’m into, the people I’ve seen, the books/articles I’ve read, and the music I’ve listened to from winter break to today(ish). Some of these photos are my attempts at film photography (be gentle with me, I’m learning), some are from my *stellar* iPhone camera, and I’ve also included some music and quotes that you can peruse at your leisure.

I hope you enjoy, Mom!

A sunset from Vilano Beach, a sunset from my driveway, Margaux at the beach house, and Margaux loading film into her camera at Atlantic Beach (I promise I have more than one friend).

Listen… graphic design/doodling is not my forte, but c’est la vie. I think it looks cute and that’s all that freaking matters. Anyways, Atlantic Beach and surfing, Margaux at Vilano Beach on a foggy morning, and Emily at Vilano Beach doing some hard…

My trip to North Carolina! Me trying to be good at taking film photos! Wow!

The images of the trees were only taken one day apart which I think is pretty wild. Also, the bedroom that I stayed in during this trip was my actual dream room — if only it had a window seat — but other than that, it was perfection.

The quote is from Rob Sheffield’s memoir, “Love is a Mixtape.” When it comes to books, memoirs are my go-to. As a reader, you feel like you’re living inside of someone else’s head as they share their most intimate thoughts and experiences. This memo…

The quote is from Rob Sheffield’s memoir, “Love is a Mixtape.” When it comes to books, memoirs are my go-to. As a reader, you feel like you’re living inside of someone else’s head as they share their most intimate thoughts and experiences. This memoir was particularly vulnerable. Even though the quote is pretty cheesy, I think that the sentiment is just lovely. Each chapter of Sheffield’s book comes with a list of songs from his many mixtapes, so I had to include some of my favorites from those as well. The other two things here are pretty self-explanatory.

spring syr

Spring! In Syracuse! These are just a few random photos from the past few weeks during which I have been wildly unproductive due to the beautiful weather. I feel so lucky to actually be in Syracuse for spring this year and just overwhelmingly happy to be here in general. Life is too good sometimes.

That’s all I have! Hope you enjoyed :)
